NotesHeaded out with John Bell late this afternoon and wanted to give an update on the flow into the rock wall. The seam is much farther away from the wall compared to the 5.7+ level experienced with Jared a week ago. However, this level is far from the stress free level that Stro and I had. I had several deep and long rides but was prematurely hitting the up button worrying about getting pushed into the wall. We only did about a 40 minute set here and I never hit the wall, but did come up less than a foot away from it several times. The seam also bosses you around a little more at this level. To put it on the driving scale--it would definitely be worth a two hour drive at this level!

NotesThe seam is still there, but the flow coming from river left will push you into the rock wall at this level. Like idiots Jared and I both still gave her a go and both of us were plastered to the rock, albeit temporarily. Potential permanent downtime available at this level--go to Center Chute and do battle with the Tupperware at this level!

NotesStro and I headed out today to take her off exploratory status. What a way to break in the new seams that Paul recently did for both of us. Both of us were hitting great rides! A long ride (15-20) usually requires an easy amphibian attainment on attainers right. There are three eddies that you can stage in: river right(rr), top river left (tl) and lower river left (ll). Initiating from rr tended to put you into the rock wall on river right and was therefore my least favorite eddy to engage from. Stro and I both engaged mostly from ll. This tended to keep you in the flow and give you lots of travel. tl would give rides at the corner of the convergence with little to no travel. I only tapped a few rocks gently at around 7 feet--I actually think it was the same rock I hit twice. Still not sure what the lower and upper end of this spot is. Stro and I are both certain the rock wall becomes a factor at some point at higher levels. Also, this seam could get pretty powered up with more water--at todays level the drop was smooth and easy and you definitely had to wing if you wanted depth. Heading back tomorrow for some more research!
